FAMOUS CZECH BRANDS AND LOGOS

Škoda, the well-known Czech automobile manufacturer was founded back in 1895 as Laurin & Klement. It is headquartered in Mladá Boleslav. Its automobiles are sold in over 100 countries. ŠKODA AUTO (and its predecessor Laurin & Klement) is one of the five oldest companies still producing their own cars. This unbroken history is shared by Daimler, Opel, Peugeot, and Tatra. Moser is another famous historical Czech company that continues to flourish today. Founded by Ludwig Moser around 1850, its original factory continues to produce it famous glassware in the Karlovy Vary Region. Moser’s family has continued to be involved in its manufacturing, upholding its tradition of quality and original design. There is also the famous original Bohemian Blue Onion (German: Zwiebelmuster) porcelain tableware pattern produced by Thun.

The unique quality of Czech beer (including Czech pilsners) has earned it the reputation as one of the best beers in the world. Top selling breweries include Plzeňský Prazdroj, Pivovary Staropramen, Budvar, Bernard and Starobrno.

In terms of artistry and a commitment to handcrafted excellence, one cannot leave out Petrof Pianos, which is located in Hradec Králové.  Established in 1864 by Antonín Petrof, it is one of the leading European piano manufacturers.

Škoda cars are the most popular brand of cars found in Czechia. Although the manufacturing company is now part of the Volkswagen group, the original Czech brand name has been retained. The company, like other early car companies, was founded in the late 19th century.

Pilsner is the most widely exported of the different types of Czech beer. It can be found in at least 50 countries. It was originally produced, way back in 1842, under the Czech name Plzeňský Prazdroj, a product from the Czech city of Plzeň (Pilsen).

The Tatra off-road truck brand was founded in 1850 in the town of Kopřivnice. The vehicles are exported all over the world and are highly valued for their ability to handle almost any type of rough terrain.

The Baťa footwear company was founded in 1894 in the city of Zlín by the Czech entrepreneur Tomáš Baťa. At present, the company operates in more than 70 countries and has some 30,000 employees.

Avast antivirus software also comes from Czechia. The company was founded in Czechoslovakia as Alwil in 1988 by Pavel Baudiš and Eduard Kučera.

Petrof, the piano manufacturer, was established in 1864 in Hradec Králové by Antonín Petrof. Popular throughout the world, Petrof pianos are known for their exceptional quality.
